Aggression Against Palestinians In Gaza Must Stop

 EMISCO – The European Muslim Initiative for Social Cohesion – joins the voice of the international community in strongly condemning the continued and intensified operations by the State of Israel against the innocent Palestinians in Gaza.

EMISCO is especially apprehensive of the launching of land operations that are taking place in addition to the air and sea bombardments.

We appeal to all communities in Europe, in particular Muslims, Jews and Christians, to join hands to condemn the ongoing violence against the Palestinian people and to strengthen their position for a peaceful and lasting solution to the Israeli – Palestinian conflict. We also stress that the solution must be based on the pertinent UN Resolutions, which in turn will enhance the chances of a non-discriminatory and socially cohesive Europe.

Death and injury among elderly, women and children caused by this aggression is a human tragedy that must be stopped. Severe damage to civilian property, schools, hospitals and destruction of infrastructure cannot and must not be overlooked or tolerated.

We are also worried about the added consequences of this present hostility on the ongoing racist and discriminatory tendencies against the Muslim communities, living in the West.

EMISCO therefore calls upon the international community, including the UN, EU, COE, OSCE and other relevant international organizations, to exert every possible pressure on the government of Israel to stop this ongoing operation against Gaza, which has now caused unlimited suffering and human rights violations.
